Under Pressure: Crushed Into Glory

So. Much. Tragedy.

Man, there isn’t a person I know who isn’t walking through fire right now. Everyone is carrying something heavy. Many of my friends are standing at the precipice of life-altering events.

Local violence has touched my inner circle. Domestic situations are demanding hard choices. Diagnoses are blurring the thin veil between Heaven and Earth. Destructive relationships are escalating in ways that threaten safety.

It’s almost to the point where we stop talking because the only stories left to tell feel like something Stephen King would write.

But God.

Talking helps—I know that. But it’s hard on the ones who listen. I know that too…I’ve seen it in the faces of those who hear what spills from my own mouth.

Praying helps. More than helps. Prayer is the answer.
He listens.
He comforts.
He walks beside us in our heartbreak.

On Sunday, God gave me a word…and it was glorious.

In the middle of one of those raw conversations, I said to my friend, “It feels like the whole world is being crushed.”

And the Lord whispered: “Child, just as carbon beneath the earth’s surface is compressed into a diamond, so the earth itself may be shaken and crushed—but when My Son comes, His glory will shine.”

Referencing Matthew 24:29–30:

Following those hard times,

‘the sun will be darkened,

and the moon will not give its light;

the stars will fall from the sky,

and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’

Then—the Arrival of the Son of Man.
It will fill the skies. No one will miss it…

Carbon buried deep in the earth’s mantle, compressed beyond what seems survivable, becomes a diamond.

Pressure does not always destroy.
Sometimes it resurrects.

The crushing is not the end of the story.
Glory is.
